An enhanced algorithmic scheme for relaxed incremental variational damage formulations at finite strains

چکیده

Relaxed damage formulations enable to overcome the mesh dependency induced by a loss of ellipticity. However, such approaches require construction convex hull associated energy potential. Within this contribution, an improved one-dimensional, relaxed formulation [1] with successive, computationally optimal convexification scheme, see [2], is presented. Instead solving non-convex optimization problem at material point level, we iterate over discrete grid and build consecutively linear Taylor expansions construct hull. Due reduced computational effort, integration one-dimensional mechanical model orientation distributions obtain three-dimensional response as proposed in [3] becomes more feasible.

Relaxed incremental variational formulation for damage at large strains with application to fiberreinforced materials and materials with trusslike microstructures

In this paper, an incremental variational formulation for damage at finite strains is presented. The classical continuum damage mechanics serves as a basis where a stress-softening term depending on a scalar-valued damage function is prepended an effective hyperelastic strain energy function, which describes the virtually undamaged material. Because loss of convexity is obtained at some critica...

An Enhanced MSS-based checkpointing Scheme for Mobile Computing Environment

Mobile computing systems are made up of different components among which Mobile Support Stations (MSSs) play a key role. This paper proposes an efficient MSS-based non-blocking coordinated checkpointing scheme for mobile computing environment. In the scheme suggested nearly all aspects of checkpointing and their related overheads are forwarded to the MSSs and as a result the workload of Mobile ...

DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION OF TRUSSES BY FINITE ELEMENT MODEL UPDATING USING AN ENHANCED LEVENBERG-MARQUARDT ALGORITHM

This paper presents an efficient method for updating the structural finite element model. Model updating is performed through minimizing the difference of recorded acceleration of real damaged structure and hypothetical damaged structure, by updating physical parameters in each phase using iterative process of Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. This algorithm is based on sensitivity analysis and pr...

An Enhanced HL-RF Method for the Computation of Structural Failure Probability Based On Relaxed Approach

The computation of structural failure probability is vital importance in the reliability analysis and may be carried out on the basis of the first-order reliability method using various mathematical iterative approaches such as Hasofer-Lind and Rackwitz-Fiessler (HL-RF). This method may not converge in complicated problems and nonlinear limit state functions, which usually shows itself in the f...
